About the Artist - Yasmina Ashraf

Being born in Alexandria, where all arts flourished through the centuries, has given Yasmina the artistic genes and a flair of creativity. Studying fine arts was a life-changing decision, as it identified her eloquent brushwork. Yasmina Ashraf’s oil paintings are a collection of surreal thought-provoking silent moments, as she is known for her work with surrealism in traditional methods and a technical rigor that balances perception and conceptual design. These paintings draw inspiration mainly from the enchanting relationship between women and nature and how each continuously affects the other. In order to express a particular idea gracefully, she occasionally dabbles with other media such as acrylic, pastels and watercolor. Ashraf has exhibited her paintings at various places around Egypt such as Fine Arts institutions, Well known galleries and cultural centers.
