About the artwork: This piece features my very favorite coffee mug, the rainbow brushstroke mug from Ryman Arts. The donut here is a beautiful pride month donut from my very favorite donut shop, DK Donuts. DK's is featured in the moving documentary The Donut King--I highly recommend watching the documentary and visiting DK's for an incredible donut!

 

About the arist: Chloe Allred is a painter, writer, educator and activist based in Los Angeles. She is a contributing artist and writer for the book, We Believe You (published by Henry Holt in 2016.) Her paintings and writing have been featured in Orange Coast Magazine, Huffington Post, USA Today, and the BBC. She is a founding member of The Body Joy Project, a feminist artist collective that critiques and challenges the way our culture thinks about the body.
