About the artwork: "The idea for this sculpture first came when I was staying with a friend in Santa Monica after leaving the Bay Area to relocate to Los Angeles in 2015. Being so close to the ocean was magisterial and as I walked along it one day, I found the most gorgeous rock. Once I cut out the cardboard armature to  create the piece the remaining shape became the  partner to these two 'Personages.' "
