About the artwork: "Primary colors have powerful associations. This sculpture was inspired by Piet Mondrian the Dutch painter who moved to New York City and during the 1940’s was one of the artists who pioneered the art movement, Abstract Expressionism. His exuberant paintings, one of which is called Broadway Boogie Woogie reflects a view from his window looking down at the taxis, red lights and blue skies above Broadway."
