Pollinator Series: Description of Process: "Recently, my studio has been filled with cardboard—which I have been drawing on, painting, cutting, and mounting to create dreamscapes. I am thinking of bringing dreams to life with upcycled materials, showing that those materials can be something more. I am thinking of pollinators— like butterflies, dragonflies, bees…and how artists can act like pollinators to each other, helping one another’s ideas to grow. The inspiration to work with cardboard came from being invited to do a residency here at The Rediscover Center. The upcycling work of The Rediscover Center lit a flame in my mind and I just started making. I no longer see a cardboard box as something that merely needs to be recycled, rather I'm seeing it as the potential armature for a large cardboard dragonfly with intricate wings, or the base for a sleeping moon shrouded in clouds."
