About this item

This lively kinetic sculpture comes to you from the mind of Aaron Kramer. Made from a recycled tin can, some bits of wire and a bottle cap. The hummingbird, that is made from one piece of wire, flits about trying to make contact with the flower. All by just a turn of the crank.

About Aaron: Aaron Kramer is a reDiscover board member/sculptor/painter/automatist/inventor/teacher making artwork in West Los Angeles California. He has been professionally selling his artwork on a commission basis directly to Designers, Architects, restaurants, hotels and individual collectors for 30 years. He is a weaver of objects and likes to make mechanical contraptions. He works with reclaimed materials but not exclusively. Curiosity drives his many explorations into new materials and techniques. As an educator he has taught Art and Tinkering to kids and adults alike. He also teaches teachers how to use powertools in the classroom, safely passing on that knowledge to their children. Kramer expanded his teaching from individual workshops with kids and adults to full blown Tinkering Summer camps for kids ages 6 through 15 through reDiscoverCenter.org. Kramer continues to share his creative vision with an emphasis on working with reclaimed materials, because it is his core belief that “trash is the failure of imagination.” It is through creative children that he sees hope for our future.
