About this item

This is an auction item that can be used towards Scintigraphy or the soon to be released standing leg CT scan!! So get in before everyone else does.

In partnership with specialist vets, TeleMedVET provides an innovative nuclear medicine and scientific research service operated by highly qualified specialists for equine and small animal veterinary care.

TeleMedVET combines 30 years of expertise in nuclear medicine technology and leading veterinarians to provide an innovative and compassionate clinical diagnostic service. We deliver the recent advances in sophisticated human nuclear medicine applications to assist veterinarians in their pursuit of better clinical outcomes.  Scintigraphy uses a radioactive isotope to locate areas of increased metabolic activity in bone which may indicate a site of injury that are unable to be seen on x-ray or ultrasound.

Our commitment involves making nuclear medicine more accessible and more valuable to referring veterinarians through innovations in key areas of image quality, dose reduction, exam speeds and quantitative applications in order to realise the full potential of this growing diagnostic modality in the veterinary world.

In partnership with Perth Equine Hospital and University Institutions we are the only provider of 3D-SPECT for equine pelvic imaging and whole-body 3D-SPECT for small animal research. TeleMedVET couples the scanner with best-in-class hardware and software leveraging latest advances in motion correction and high-resolution analytics. We provide our patients with a comprehensive and collaborative clinical approach, which starts with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging.

This auction item entitles the winner to a voucher to the value of $1500 to use towards a full or half body Scintigraphy SPECT clinical scan or a standing leg CT scan.  Including overnight stabling and full report.

Scintigraphy is a diagnostic technique that is helpful for diagnosing difficult or multiple area unsoundness or just checking up on where your horse is at as a preventative measure.

CT produces information, using X-rays projected from different angles around the patient, which is then processed to produce cross-sectional images. This produces an entire 3D image of the horses leg. There are several advantages of CT compared to conventional two-dimensional x-rays. In a CT scan adjacent structures are not superimposed on top of each other as they are in an x-ray making them much easier to isolate.
