Cast brass Hanukkah lamp, Israel, circa 1950. Fine Vintage Pal-Bell Brass Hanukkah Lamp Menorah Israel, Ca 1950 The backplate is adorned with an oil pitcher, inscribed in Hebrew "Hanukkah" and sided by two stylized olive branches. Fronted by a stylized base, inscribed in Hebrew "Ha'Nerot Halalu Kodesh Hem" (These candles are Holy) and set with the eight stylized candle holders. The base is marked in English "Made in Israel" and in Hebrew & English "Pat. 897". Although unmarked with Pal-Bell, this item was most likely made by Pal-Bell and was one of their earliest designs. During the last few years Pal-Bell items had become highly sought after by collectors and their value rises constantly. In 1939 in Tel-Aviv, Israel, Maurice Ascalon (formerly known as Moshe Klein) founded Pal-Bell Co.
