Paul & Shaun take on the Montane Dragon's Back Race

This September, one of our very own and his trainer, are taking on a challenge that for most of us would be the stuff of nightmares, The Montane Dragon's Back Race®, to raise vital funds for the two charities that we are long time, devoted supporters of – Hospitality Action and Action Against Hunger, and we are getting behind them.

Over 6 days, from Monday 4^th – Saturday 9^th September, they’ll attempt to run 380 kilometres and climb 17,400 metres - more than twice the height of Everest - from Conwy Castle to Cardiff Castle in Wales. 

And if anyone can do it, Paul Trifanov the Head Kitchen Porter from THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay and his trainer Shaun Biddulph can! Paul started with us in 2015, having moved over to the UK from Romania, and has worked shifts at six of our PIGs over that time. He had been a bit of a runner before college, but not competitively. Lockdown spurred Paul on to ditch the smoking, pull on the trainers again and getting running, and (a little bit like Forest Gump) he hasn’t stopped since…

We could not be prouder of our charity crusaders, so we are going big back at HQ to help them raise whatever we can and will be supporting from the sidelines with a few challenges of our own! Here’s how we will be getting involved and we hope you will too…
