This is an opportunity for a review of up to 5,000 words of a poetry manuscript with a follow up 40 minute Zoom discussion with Brisbane poet Janaka Malwatta. The edit can be a structural edit of the anatomy of the manuscript or a detailed edit of chosen poems. A follow up Zoom discussion can be arranged at a mutually convenient time in early May or late June.
Janaka won the 2021 Arts Queensland Thomas Shapcott Poetry Prize for an poetry manuscript by an unpublished poet. His first poetry collection blackbirds don’t mate with starlings was published by University of Queensland Press in 2022. He has appeared at Brisbane Writers Festival, the OzAsia Festival and at Queensland Poetry Festvial. He has been published in various magazines, including Cordite Poetry Review, Rabbit Poetry Journal and Peril Magazine.
