Mixed media collage on upcycled book board
From the series ‘Party Animals’
Each Party Animal has its own personal backstory like no other.

This is Agatha.

Agatha’s early dream of becoming a dancer ended in disappointment when her legs proved too short to reach the barre. Not deterred, she went on to become a literary sensation, holding regular soirées to which she invited some of the most disaffected members of the literary community. At the gatherings she created collaborative montages from passages out of rejected manuscripts. These lively texts have been printed in thirty-eight and a half languages and performed in Paris, Rome, Montreal and a suburban back street in Frankston. The success of the publications has launched the careers of several of the authors involved, and become the subject of many ongoing legal battles.

Agatha is also the creator of the fashion jewellery range ‘Bassette’ and is the inspiration for a successful range of fashion support tights. She is depicted from the waist up because her ankles are protected by a non-disclosure agreement, famously known in veterinary-literary circles as the ‘dew-clause’.
