"The Gathering" Tokitae Orca Whale Art Print (#114)

SIZE: The image size is 3 feet by 3 feet (36" x 36") and is printed on a heavy gauge printing paper suitable for hanging. It is a hand carved linoleum print and a limited edition of only 10 prints. Only one print is available in this auction. 

DESCRIPTION: This original Tokitae Orca Whale art was created and donated by a team of student artists from Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington as a tribute to Tokitae as the Pacific Northwest was preparing for her return to the Salish Sea. In her passing, the team of artists feel that the image has deep emotional and historic significance and will stand as a reminder of the great love Tokitae generated for Orcas and their freedom to swim with their pods in nature. The scene depicts seashells in the border, native to the Salish Sea as well as a salmon, salal, cedar and eagle feather of the region. The printing took place at the 2023 Waygoose Kitsap Festival in the Pacific Northwest to wide acclaim of the image. The recipient of the image will receive it shipped in a large tubular shipping container to preserve the artwork suitable for framing. The piece is called "The Gathering".
