Aaron C. Carter’s practice is characterised by distinct intersections between painting and sculpture, with relief works – often as discreet forms linking spaces of the landscape and abstraction with a common dialogue, sensibility and attitude that carry through. A feature of Carter’s creative process is an ongoing exploration of the space between objects: using fixing points and weaving materials with excess and lightness, to emphasis the slippage of connecting forms, play with pictorial space and layer his image making.
Carter (b. 1984, Donald, Australia) lives and works in Melbourne. He holds a Master of Applied Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver (2013) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne (2005).
