Originally from Cooma, NSW, I now live and work in Launceston as a self employed designer and maker manufacturing bespoke furniture and small objects in Tasmanian timbers. Although I have had an interest in woodworking since childhood, it was after settling in Tasmanian in 1991 that I achieved the level of making skills to have items acceptable for sale in galleries. I completed a Diploma in Furniture Design at UTAS in 2010 and achieved an entry on the Dean’s role for excellence in 2008.
I have been a finalist for Tasmanian Wood Design Centre biennial acquisition exhibitions 2008 and 2011, Clarence Prize for Furniture Design 2011 and 2013 and the Australian Wood Review 2010 Studio Furniture exhibition, Bungendore, NSW.
I have manufactured numerous items on commission for private clients and corporate clients including the West Tamar Council, Australian Breast Cancer Network and recently the Australian Children’s Book Council.
