SpellBound Books is a new digital publishing company founded by Sumaira Wilson and Nicola East, one of the organisers of Hull Noir.

About Sumaira:

My love of reading was sparked from a young age when I was first introduced to the magical world of Enid Blyton. I always wanted to work in publishing but life took me in a different direction and I spent my first 20 years working in the City in the Finance Industry. I took a short break to raise my young family of 4. This is the period where my passion really peaked. I was lucky to turn that passion into a profession and landed a job as Production Manager for a leading digital publisher where I gained valuable experience of the workings of the publishing industry.  I am a regular on the Book Festival circuit, which is where I met Nikki four years ago.  We clicked instantly becoming firm friends and bonding over our love of authors, books and red wine!  We are delighted to be teaming up, marrying up the vast experience between us to launch SpellBound Books.

About Nikki East:

I've been working in the shadows within the periphery of the publishing industry for 10 years. I've assisted numerous authors with promotions, building websites, proof reading, branding and much more. I am one of the Co-Founders of Hull Noir. I have hosted Noir @ The Bar in both my hometown of Hull as well as in London where I live. I have chaired a panel of super talented authors at Newcastle Noir and, along with my wonderful son George, I helped coordinate logistics for Bouchercon 2017 in St. Petersburg, Florida - what an amazing experience that was! Thanks Erin.

Essentially, I love books and I love being around people who love books - that's how I met Sumaira!

I am a chatterbox but will listen and take notice of what you want. You will always get honest opinions and advice from me. It's my Yorkshire blood!  I'm so excited to be part of SpellBound Books and can't wait to get started.
