Matthew Hale is born in 1958. He studied BA Fine Art Painting at the Chelsea school of Art in London and MA Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, University of London.

Over the last 40 years, hale has exhibied in the UK, Europe and the USA and continues to do so. Hale has been a consultant to the UK magazine Art Monthly for over twenty five years. He is représented by Michel Rein Galerie.
