About this item

This striking original painting by the late Margaret Scobie features a beautiful combination of pink and green bush medicine leaves, rendered in her distinctive and highly regarded style. Margaret Scobie belonged to one of Australia’s most celebrated Aboriginal artistic families and was related to renowned artists including Emily Kame Kngwarreye (her aunt), Gloria Petyarre (her first cousin), Kathleen Petyarre, Anna Petyarre and Ada Bird Petyarre.

Measuring 97cm high x 94cm wide, the artwork is presented on stretched canvas and professionally framed, making it a stunning statement piece for a home or office.

The painting came to one of our Year 9 families through a special and fortunate connection. A friend living next door to Margaret in Alice Springs personally asked her to create the work. The family also holds a photograph of Margaret with the painting, which they will share discreetly with the successful bidder, in keeping with respect for the artist and cultural customs.
