Atmospheric and contemplative, ‘Forest’ draws the viewer into a towering landscape of stillness and scale. A lone figure stands among vertical lines of dense forest—inviting reflection on solitude, perspective and our relationship to the natural world.

JR Boulton’s photographic style leans into mood and quiet observation, capturing environments not just as places, but as emotional states. The soft light and layered depth create a sense of immersion, as if the viewer has stepped into the scene themselves.

This piece was acquired by Samuel Johnson at Boulton’s debut exhibition Moments of Being (Thornbury, June 2025), adding early provenance to an emerging artist’s trajectory.
