Wyn Geleynse

Wyn Geleynse was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He and his parents immigrated to Canada in 1953, settling in London, ON. He is considered a pioneer in multimedia artistic practices. His first artistic efforts were in printmaking and then painting. He also studied lithography. He developed a style of art which combines 3D model-making with the 2D qualities of photography. Later he started integrating film into his art, creating installation-based works in which short film loops are projected against fabricated items. Lately, Geleynse has begun using digital editing techniques, view finders, and other objects to mediate the viewer’s reception of images.
