Robert Bateman

Robert Bateman was born in Toronto and has a degree in geography from the University of Toronto. He spent several years travelling around the world which increased his appreciation of nature. He is a keen artist and naturalist who paints wildlife and nature. He has experimented with different artistic styles but mostly uses realism which is the style that has made him one the foremost artists depicting nature. His art reflects his commitment to ecology and preservation and he is a member of naturalist and conservation organizations. Several books have been written about his life and work, and he has received numerous awards and honours.
