A Rare Offering of Historic Bits, Spurs, Rawhide Gear & Western Collectibles

This auction presents an unparalleled opportunity to own authentic pieces of Western performance history. Featured in this catalog are bits, spurs, rawhide gear, and collectible tack from the personal equipment of NRCHA Hall of Famers Jim Paul Sr. and Dema Paul—two of the most influential horsemen in the development of the modern bridle horse.

Many of the bits in this sale were crafted, modified, or hand-selected by Jim or Dema for use in their own programs. These pieces represent decades of horsemanship, craftsmanship, innovation, and vaquero tradition. Equipment belonging to riders of this caliber rarely leaves private collections, making this offering truly exceptional.

The auction also includes premium consignments from the Patti Bello Collection, such as the museum-quality Luis Ortega Calfskin Romal Reins and additional historic bridle bits. These items are offered separately, with proceeds returning to that estate.

Proceeds from all other lots will benefit Dema Paul, honoring her and Jim’s legacy while placing these historic pieces in new, appreciative homes.
