#079 Patriot Mukmin, To come with purpose #2 (m), 2023

From a series of nine works collectively titled Wominjeka, 2023, in which each work contains a letter from the word 'Wominjeka' meaning 'To come with purpose', or more commonly 'Welcome', in the Woiwurrung language of the Wurundjeri people. This work contains the letter 'm'.

Patriot Mukmin is an Indonesian-born artist whose photo collage work often involves optical illusion. Since graduating from the Faculty of Art and Design at Bandung Institute of Technology in 2010, he has explored historical events that happened in Indonesia as a reference to his works. Recent solo exhibitions include La Mer at the Centre Intermondes, La Rochell, France, 2023; Revolution: Crosspoint of Power of 45-65, George Paton Gallery, University of Melbourne, 2023; and Empty Unempty, Fuwari no Mori, Japan, 2019.
