Lena Smelansky was born in Kholmsk (the island of Sakhalin). In 1990, immigrated to Israel. Lives in Jerusalem.
In 1987, graduated from the faulty of Industrial Design of V. Mukhina Academy for Industrial Art (from 2006, Stieglitz Academy for Industrial Art), St. Petersburg.
