Galina Zernina, photo artist, was born in St. Petersburg, graduated from the Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute named after A.I. Herzen with a degree in "teacher of Russian language and literature" (in 1986).
She has been involved in photography since childhood. In 2007 she completed the course “Photocomposition” at the St. Petersburg photo workshops with Lyudmila Grigorieva. In 2008-2009 she studied and graduated from the Lensovet Palace of Culture photography school. Later she attended creative courses at the “5.6” photography school. In 2009, Galina Zernina took 2nd place in the photo competition of the Hundred Roads festival.
From 2009 to 2012, three of her exhibitions were held at the Ratris Center for Developmental Technologies: “Macroworld”, “Reflection of Light”, “Fairy Tale and Meditation”.
In November 2015, in Munich, at the Janusz Korczak European Academy, Galina’s exhibition “Longing for a Better Life” based on J. Korczak’s letters to Eretz Israel took place. In April 2016, this exhibition was held at the Anna Akhmatova Museum in the Fountain House in St. Petersburg, and in November 2016 - in Berlin.
In May 2017, the exhibition "Peter. On the same wavelength" was held at the Anna Akhmatova Museum in the Fountain House. It is dedicated to the work of Joseph Brodsky. In September, the same exhibition was held on the territory of the ESOD House of Jewish Culture in St. Petersburg.
