Aleksander Zakharov: “…My childhood was spent traversing the wilderness, picking various mushrooms and berries with my family, learning the dynamics and diversity of nature, first hand, and understanding the dire necessity of its preservation. this also heavily influenced my artwork and the subject matter I chose to depict, if not just for the personal comfort of verdant vistas.
Many of my works from the last two decades have touched on environmental issues, and I"m always exploring the relationship between man and nature.”
