A Little Bit About Carl:                                                                                                                           I was born and raised in Lahaina, on Maui.  I completed my education at Oregon State University and spent my entire professional life working as a biologist in Alaska.  After retirement, I was drawn to woodworking. As an amateur, I taught myself to turn bowls, make boxes and fashion furniture, and children's toys using the beautifully grained woods I had access to in Hawai'i.  When we moved to Anacortes ten years ago, I set up my shop and continue to enjoy crafting things from wood, most often using Oregon Myrtle, walnut, cherry and maple.  I don't normally sell what I make but I enjoy sharing my efforts with family and friends.
