In celebration of Sir Doug Nicholls Round, we are proud to reveal our 2023 Indigenous Guernsey representing our unique yawa and the club’s First Nations players, past, present and future.
Designed by Indigenous artist Jade Kennedy of the Noongar Nation (Wadjak, Willman, Kaartdijin and Bibulman),
The front of the guernsey highlights traditional gathering place symbols and journey paths, representing the club’s yawa and shared direction forward. It incorporates a red, yellow and black colour palette, mirroring the official club colours worn between 1915-1922.
The back of the guernsey details the names of every St Kilda First Nations player to have played a senior game for the club, and are encircled by the family totems of St Kilda’s current AFL and AFLW Indigenous players.
