About this item
Ceramics sculpture is my passion. I love quirky and spiky shapes, and I have also an obsession with pattern. This Christmas tree was inspired by these things, as well as my love of Christmas and so I have enjoyed the use of traditional Christmas colours. The baubles are ceramic and thrown on the wheel, then carved into whilst leather hard. Underglaze colours have been used to add colour and pattern, with the ends dipped in clear glaze for some contrasting shine. Added polymer clay squiggles fill in the gaps and further exaggerate the creature like shapes.
