Chris Morgan graduated from the Tasmanian College of Advanced Education (School of Art) in 1978. A career in teaching within the Visual Arts lasted for thirty-two years before Chris retired from teaching in 2011 to concentrate on producing artwork and to study Visual Arts at the post Graduate level.

In 2012 Chris graduated from the UTAS School of Visual and Performing Arts - completing a research based Master of Fine Art. Obtaining this qualifications gave Chris a boost in confidence in the production of his own work and for him to see more clearly the role that his work might play in a contemporary arts-based context.

Chris has spent the past two years refining his technique. He felt that experimentation and research was required in order to refine his art practice. There is a perceived need to develop a media that is commensurate with his desire to tackle what he sees an enormous challenge – creating visual artworks that enhance and give high photographic value to what flows naturally and what is habitual about the natural formations seen in the Tasmanian Landscape.
