Ring from the "Sea anemones" collection- unique generative jewelry. The design is 3D printed on a DLP printer with a castable resin and cast using a metal of choice (mostly silver or gold). Creator of the idea: Maciej Głowacki.

Anemones – unique generative jewelry

Currently silver (with possible use of gold instead)

Union of generative and participatory design:
- Each Anemone ring is unique, formed through digital flow simulation.
- Rings can be created by customers through an online app.
More than 50 pieces were designed, some were already made in silver.

Creator of the idea: Maciej Głowacki / Sygnis SA

Anemones are a series of rings created using a generative algorithm. Each of them is unique as its 'growth' on simple shapes (circles, planes, spheres) is a result of digital simulation, producing different jewelry at every iteration. The rings are meant to be created through an intuitive online app, which would offer a 'design-it-yourself' experience for both amateur and professionals users, erasing the gap between design beginners and experts. The aim of this project is never to produce two identical jewelry pieces.

Jewelry should have a soul. For centuries it used to bear marks of the maker's creativity and tools. Nowadays CAD/CAM and 3D printing often lead to its mass production. This project aims to use those modern technologies' potential of creating singular distinctive pieces to bring the soul back. And to bring the creative process closer to the user, who could design his own jewelry. Inspired by tangled forms of nature, anemones or grapevine, the collection strives for the complex and the unique.

Each piece is created by the user through the designed algorithm. The design is then 3D printed on a DLP printer with a castable resin and cast using a metal of choice (mostly silver or gold). The series, though using modern technologies, is an example of fine craftsmanship of a 3d printing specialist, founder and jeweler. Due to complexity of shapes, each piece is an unique challenge for everyone involved.
