Even though Craig Chee was born and raised on Oʻahu, he developed much of his musical voice on the mainland while attending the University of Oregon, where he explored many styles of music on the ukulele. Like many Hawai‘i musicians, he began learning through friends and the Roy Sakuma ʻUkulele Studios and later had the honor of working under renowned artists Jake Shimabukuro and Troy Fernandez. Today, Craig is known worldwide for his energetic and joyful performance style and his engaging teaching.

Sarah Maisel was raised in Alabama and later worked in San Diego as the Lead Female Draper for the La Jolla Playhouse and University of California San Diego. After discovering the ukulele at a local jam session, she fell in love with the instrument and studied under Frank Leong, exploring the jazz stylings of classic Hawaiian songs inspired by legends such as Lyle Ritz, Benny Chong, and Byron Yasui.

Craig and Sarah met through their shared passion for the ukulele and married in 2015. Since then, they have become one of the most beloved duos in the global ukulele community, performing and teaching at festivals across Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Germany, Belgium, Hawai‘i, and throughout the United States. Both have also been featured on the cover of Ukulele Magazine. Their passion for teaching led them to launch their successful online ukulele school with ArtistWorks in 2016.
