Charissa Brock, who works and teaches out of her studio near Portland, OR, has made artwork with natural materials since 1994. She discovered bamboo as an art material in 1999 while earning her MFA at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA. She creates one-of-a-kind sculptures using bamboo, fused glass, stone, and waxed linen thread. Her work is widely exhibited in the United States and is in Arizona State University Museum Permanent Collection. She has been featured in American Style Magazine (April 2007) and on the cover of Journal of Wealth Development.
