Invite your friends and family to go see the breathtaking beauty of the Milky Way. Pine Mountain Observatory, located 34 miles southeast of Bend, is perched atop a mountain at an elevation of 6,300 feet. The observatory’s location is well placed to make the most of the dark skies that the Eastern Oregon high desert provides.
Your group will be guided through a private tour, see a laser-guided display of the constellations, and see the night sky through the observatory's telescopes.

Hello all, this is Dr. Scott Fisher writing, I am the Director of Pine Mountain Observatory. Given the great response and bids to the auction, I want to sweeten the pot!
I will personally lead this tour along with the PMO Head of Operations Alton Luken. For this tour we will invite you and your group to arrive at PMO in the late afternoon so we can start off with a grand tour of the facility during the day. We will then head to the summit of Pine Mountain to watch the Sun set over the Cascades. After sunset we will have time to sit with a beverage and chat about the observatory and the programs and research we do there. Once it starts to get dark we will open up three of the PMO telescopes for the group for eyeball observing with our largest telescopes as well as taking astro-images with our new robotic telescope. We will also have an opportunity to have a laser guided sky tour as we sit underneath the dark central Oregon skies.
Throughout the evening you will have full access to myself and Alton as your personal sky tour guides!
