About this item

Circular / Linear | Pennie Jagiello
Discarded bike inner tubes & plastic
Approx. 100cm length each

A striking pair of sculptural neckpieces from Pennie Jagiello’s installation series, ‘Circular / Linear’ transforms discarded materials into powerful contemporary jewellery objects. Created from reclaimed bike inner tubes and plastic, these works embody both linear tension and cyclical form — echoing systems of consumption, repetition and environmental impact.

Suspended and elongated, the pieces carry a quiet intensity. Their dark, tactile surfaces are punctuated by fine protrusions and irregularities, revealing the history of their materials while asserting a bold, almost architectural presence. Whether worn or displayed, they operate at the intersection of adornment and sculpture.

Jagiello’s practice is defined by a rigorous commitment to sustainability — working exclusively with found and discarded human-made materials. Through this process, she recontextualises waste, confronting the permanence of anthropogenic debris and the legacy of the Anthropocene. Each work becomes both object and statement: a reflection on value, consumption and our evolving relationship with the material world.

Exhibited nationally across craft and design galleries, Pennie Jagiello is recognised for her distinctive approach to contemporary jewellery as a medium for critical dialogue.
A compelling and collectible pair, ‘Circular / Linear’ offers both conceptual depth and sculptural impact — and an opportunity to acquire installation-derived works that bridge wearable art and contemporary practice.
