Owner run and with a reputation second to none Kaingu is set in a unique and incredible setting.  At KaingU the wide and steady flowing river stretches out and flows around countless granite boulders, rapids, grassy sandbanks and islands.  The area feels almost tropical and like a lost and secret world. 

Set on raised individual private wooden decks, each overlooking the Kafue River, KaingU Safari Lodge comprises 6 double Meru-style tents with en-suite bathrooms, indoor showers and an open-air shower. The “Honeymoon-tent” has an additional outside bath. Every tent is additionally roofed with thatch to provide additional cooling and further blend into nature.

Our Finfoot family house consists of 2 bedrooms (one queen, one twin), 2 en-suite bathrooms plus outside shower and a central living area opening onto a private deck overlooking the river. It’s a perfect spot for a couple with children, or a small group of friends.

All accommodation has gauze screen entrances/doors and windows and mosquito netting over the beds. The two bedside lights and bathroom light are solar powered as are the other lodge facilities. Plugs can be found in the central area of the lodge for charging of electronic devices.

Water is heated by individual wood boilers or solar geysers. A flask with filtered drinking water is provided and filtered water is always available. Bottled water is also available from the bar, but for ecological reasons we encourage the use of reusable bottles and filtration.

The focal point of the Lodge is the thatched central area (or “Boma”) with a lounge, dining area and bar. Attached to it is a redwood deck built over the river and under the forest canopy. This area provides guests with a beautiful and serene setting for dining, sundowners or just relaxing with a book and has an all-day tea & coffee station. At night a fire is lit in the purpose-built pit on the deck. Solar-lit paths provide easy access between the chalets and the central area. 

The team are incredibly hospitable and professional and the accommodation and main areas are of a very high standard.  The variety of activities is unmatched and includes game drives, boating, fishing, walking and canoeing. 

 Two nights fully inclusive comprising all meals, snacks, hot drinks, filtered water, laundry and one activity per night stayed.  The package excludes Park fees and bar drinks and transfers to and from the lodge.  T&C's apply: the nights are not redeemable on the weekends starting October the 15th, October the 25th and November 29th (2019) or Christmas and New Year.  All bookings are subject to availability and if not redeemed this year can be redeemed in 2020 but not beyond.
