The Superior Snowmobile Club is located in the high terrain of Houghton and Ontonagon counties, atop the "Spine of the Keweenaw". This region is located within the Lake Superior Snow Belt, and as such, and in addition to bona-fide snow storms, receives copious amounts of Lake Effect Snow (LES).
