Raised an “outdoor kid” in a small Texas town, Cynthia developed her design, drafting, and compositional skills while earning a certificate in landscape design from the New York Botanical Garden. The program exposed her to botanical illustration and, while these highly detailed renderings served as a foundational education in the natural world, she chose to pursue a less structured approach in her own art.
Today, Cynthia is drawn to the creative freedom and outdoor beauty of plein air painting. She finds inspiration in splitting her year between the high Colorado Rockies and the South Carolina coast and is proud to have been juried into the Oil Painters of America Society.
