"Early Bird" - Chappy Bailey

Having grown up on the coastal shores of Massachusetts and Florida, Chapman (Chappy) Bailey is now settled in South Carolina’s Lowcountry. Upon retirement, she began her journey into plein air painting, a discipline that allows her maximum time spent immersed in the beauty and serenity of the landscape. Chappy began her painting education studying under Jonathan McPhillips, a Rhode Island marine painter of note, and continues taking workshops today. Recently, she’s broadened her technique through the use of cold wax and a palette knife. She’s been featured in an array of curated shows across the south, and is a Juried Member of Oil Painters of America.
