About this item

This beautiful framed print is by Maisie Cohen. Description details to come.

About Maisie: I grew up in the Blue Mountains two hours out of Sydney, a place that really fostered the creativity in me as it does for so many people. I have always loved to draw, paint, and take photos.

I studied filmmaking at the University of Technology Sydney, where I made two animated films, El Visitante (The Visitor) and Sick. Both were screened in various festivals.

For the past six years I’ve been working at ABC Radio Current Affairs primarily as a web producer, and occasionally producing my own stories. I really fell in love with the radio medium, and have worked on different projects for community radio, including a radio series featuring the works of 10 prominent Australian poets called Rhyming the Dead for The Red Room Company and CBAA, and my own radio series called Equal Pleasure for the Community Radio Network.

Still keen to pursue film, I’ve worked on various short film and music video projects too. Whatever the medium, I’m drawn to telling stories that focus on the arts and social justice, and particularly where these two areas intersect.

This work will be displayed at The Vic on the Park, on Saturday February 8, at the Inner West Bushfire Relief event day 3pm-12am. Bidding closes as the event ends, so if you'd like to see it in person, come to the event! Entry by donation.
