Artist Bio:
Angie Contini is an experimental multimedia artist and scholar living in Sydney. Her arts practice and research interests include figural symbolism, animal and eco-ethics, philosophy as theatre, and the holistic, pedagogical role of art in daily life. With over two decades working professionally in dance, theatre and music, her independent arts practice now focuses on fine art photography and music composition, and the development of “moving portraiture” film. Following a jazz ethos, Angie’s bespoke method of photographic capture relies upon improvisation and experimentation, with her abstract, symbolic, impressionist and surrealist imagery created organically, without the intervention of post-production digital manipulation.
