About the Artist
Lynette Bridge is an emerging artist who completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Newcastle in 2017. Bridge is a multidisciplinary artist whose main medium is painting.
Her art practise is about the transcendental fragments of memory, time and space. This work in particular “Watermelon Lyrics for You” 2021. acrylic on marine ply, 40cm x 40cm (Framed) is about the interior and how these elements are perceived through the metaphor of our subconscious and how it is expressed predominately through colour and harmonic melodies. The chosen material of marine ply is used to represent the evolution of water and the effect on both the individual and collective passage of life.
Lynette says her first language is painting as this is how she expresses and decodes both the inner and outer world of her existence. Everything is related back to nature from once we came materialized.
