About this item
On offer is this beautiful. noren. A noren is a traditional Japanese fabric divider hung in doorways, across windows, or between rooms. Sliced vertically into flaps to allow easy passage, they provide privacy and block sun, dust, and wind while allowing ventilation.
Where You'll See Them
- Businesses: Hung at the entrance of restaurants (like izakayas or ramen shops) or bathhouses (onsen). They often display the shop's logo, family crest, or the Japanese character for hot water (湯).
- In Homes: Used to compartmentalise open spaces, partition kitchens from dining areas, or hide clutter without fully closing off a room.
Kindly donated by the Cherry family.
