Description: These notecards bear images from watercolors painted by Sophia Pineda, a young woman with Down syndrome. (Chinese brushstroke style).

About the Creator: Sophia has been painting Chinese watercolors for nearly 10 years. She is also learning to handbuild pottery and is interning with a celebrated local muralist to create vibrant community art. Her business, Sophiola, sells notecards, prints, and other products based on her art. In 2025, she was selected by The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC as one of the year's 15 ACCESS VA young artists with a disability from across the nation. She attended programs at The Kennedy Center to mentor her in pursuing a career in the arts and her work was displayed in the Hall of Nations.  Her most recent exhibit of paintings is at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Virginia.
