About this item

Description: Yarn is made from 80% Acrylic and 20% Wool. The scarf measures 6+ feet long and approx. 8 inch wide. Double Helix pattern is made using tapestry crochet technique. Pattern repurposed from "DNA bucket hat pattern" by TyBailie.

About the Creator: Gabi learned how to crochet at almost the exact same time she began her GC grad school applications. She learned quickly that it helped manage her anxiety - something she had no shortage of during the 9 months it takes to apply, interview and match with a program.

However, even after she started grad school, crocheting continued to be a wonderful support. Helping her focus in class and as a bonding activity with her cohort. As she has come to love both of these wonderful communities, Genetic Counseling and Fiber Arts, she can’t help but continue to find parallels and similarities. A female dominated space, with important ties to the disability community, a mix of science and art, and an obsession with acronyms!
