"Functional wares that are intended to communicate while utilizing good ergonomics is my impetus for making pottery. Anthropomorphic qualities illustrate the interaction between the pots and the user. A literal communication is incorporated through the sensation of sound. Rattles, whistles and other playful elements are integrated into the construction of my vessels, which gives them a voice, accenting the sense of play and their character. The importance of family values, tradition and community relationships is reinforced through participation in each ceremony. The large groupings echo this notion, while the use of line, color and form reiterate my goofy personality."

Jeremy Fineman graduated from University of Hartford with a BFA in photography. He attended East Carolina University earning an MFA in ceramics. While investigating environmentally friendly approaches to firing ceramics, he built a waste vegetable oil fired kiln. Fineman has been a faculty member of Oklahoma City Community College since 2015. He exhibits his work locally and nationally. The continual pursuit of wheel thrown ceramics guides his aspirations.  https://www.occc.edu/faculty/language-arts/fineman-jeremy/
