Arrowmont Craft and Culture Fellow, John Polly, specializes in revealing inner beauty in raw wood. He also revives old wood pieces, transforming them by hand into new creations. For this collection of three cutting boards, Polly used the original entry doors to Arrowmont’s Emma Harper Turner Building. This work is both a unique piece of Arrowmont’s history and a one-of-a-kind creation for your home that will work as a utilitarian cutting board or beautiful hors-d'œuvre display.
John Polly is a wood artist and operates his studio in Jacksboro, Tennessee. He enjoys designing and constructing unique and one-of-a-kind pieces relying on the wood to present its natural beauty. Most of Polly’s works are created from fallen, damaged or discarded trees. He collects, saws into lumber, dries and processes the wood for current and future works. https://www.arrowmont.org/instructor/john-polly-connections/
