Sandra Blain’s work consists of hand-built, manipulated, wheel thrown and assembled clay forms impressed with found objects. The shapes and embossments serve as metaphors for the impact one has on their surroundings. The relief surface of this ceramic platter reveals a personal narrative Sandy experiences on daily walks. A rose-like impression is centered on the dusky green-colored piece, surrounded by geometric shapes. Sandy utilizes diagonal lines and embossed, repeated circles to keep the eyes moving and discovering new forms in this abstract design. This classic Sandy Blain platter will absorb the attention of everyone who sees it.
