Harry Ford experimented with River Birch for the first time when he turned these two vessels. One vessel was created as a vertical axis to preserve the natural bark on the side of the piece. The other hollow form was designed with a live-edge lip and the bark details that emerged were a "happy accident." The oiled finish on both pieces darkened the wood into a rich, elegant sheen. Take these lovely and stylish pieces home today.
Harry O. Ford is an engineer and woodturner living in Greenback, Tennessee. He is a member of the Smoky Mountain Woodturners and presents at regional woodturning clubs, including the Dalton Area Woodturners club. A long-time Arrowmont friend and volunteer, Harry joined the Arrowmont Board of Governors in 2020.
