About this item

Here is an opportunity to begin breeding toward Purebred Polled Luminant Gene Blonde and White Wagyu!  My vision is eventually POLLED WHITE WAGYU!  However this is a step towards that vision.  The sire is the top Australian homozygous purebred bull, POLL WAGYU PERFECTION mated with my 3rd cross (purebred by AmWA standard), CLV MISS ZOE, a heterozygous POLLED and heterozygous LUMINANT gened Wagyu.

Zoe is rated 92.2% Wagyu in the Australian herdbook (98.12% in the American) and mated with Perfection who is 97.9% Wagyu the calves will be 95.05% Wagyu and registerable in the AuWA as Purebred.  The calves will be POLLED with a 50% chance for homozygous polled and 50% chance for hetero polled.  They will also have a 50% chance to be ash blonde color with 1 dilution/lumen gene.  So if a calf comes out gray it has the lumen gene and will turn a shade of ash blonde. If it comes out black it will have no lumen gene.

Regarding Zoe and her 3rd class rating:  American purebred Wagyu are more distantly related to the sampling of Australian Wagyu in their content test.  All American Purebloods for a time were not DNA sampled and so AuWA requires a content test.  So Zoe's granddam was an American purebred but on the content test dropped to 73% Wagyu!  So Zoe ends up just missing purebred status at 92.2% Wagyu.  Zoe's sire and paternal side are all Fullblood 100% Wagyu and her Maternal side are all registered American Wagyu Purebreds to the third generation upline!  Zoe is also granddaughter of the famous Bar R Arimura the first homozygous polled bull at Bar R ranch.  This also makes her a great granddaughter of the even more famous Bar R 52Y (Taz).  This Australian regulation made me to decide on an Australian homozygous polled bull for mating to Zoe, as I would have normally used semen from my fine bull, Zuru, that I sold to Signature Wagyu.

Pics are of Perfection, Zoe now, Zoe as a calf, Mura - Zoe's dam, and Tam - Zoe's sire.

Embryos are stored at TransOva in College Station, Texas
