About this item
Konrad Wierzbicki, Student Year 12
The piece plays with the tension between authenticity and interpretation. Mountains are calm and understated. Here a tower broken by time, a shadow of its previous glory, reaching the sky. The photo's colours aren't meant to deceive. They change the story, from one of serenity and last breaths of an old monument to a fierce fight between the sun and stone, the last bastion of the desert . From natural to surreal. The work becomes less about the geography of the Atlas Mountains and more about how visual manipulation shapes our sense of place.
